Manjit Minhas - Star of CBC's Dragons' Den
The concept of giving is very sacred to me. It's one thing to earn as much money as possible, but what's the point? To have the fanciest car? The fanciest house?
As much as I'd like to have both those things, what I personally want most is to be happy and be spiritually fulfilled. And, for me at least, I'm much happier when I use my money to help others in need.
There are two truths in life:
1) Life gives to the giver and takes from the taker.
2) Those who think money isn't the key to happiness haven't given enough of it away.
The first 50% of my gross income goes directly to building schools and saving villages in Africa. The second 50% is all reinvested into the business so that the first 50% is even larger the next time around.
That's how I operate. I'm not thinking of how much I can make this year. I'm thinking of how many schools in underdeveloped areas I can build and refurbish.
And that has done wonders for myself, my businesses, and my health.
I'm not playing for myself. I'm playing for those who can't play the game just yet.
