You can live your life in two different ways.
You can live your life at cause, or you you can live it at effect.
What do I mean by at cause and at effect? Simple:
Do you take 100% responsibility for your life, outcomes, and results?
If so, you’re living your life at cause.
Do you find someone or something else to blame whenever something doesn’t quite go the way you want it to? If you, you’re living your life at effect.
The truth is:
You are 100% Responsible for Everything That Happens to You
I know this is probably going against everything you’ve been taught and everything you know, but it’s true.
If something unfavorable happens to you, you can do one of two things:
You can find an excuse, or someone or something to blame; or
You can figure what you thought or did to cause the unfavorable outcome, and you can find out what you can do differently next time.
If you want to give living your life at cause and taking 100% responsibility for your life a go, but you just can’t get past the fact that luck sometimes plays a part, then act as if. Act as if getting dumped or laid off was a result of something you did rather than the other person being crazy or the company not making enough money to remain employed. What part did you play in getting together with that person in the first place, and what part did you plan in being part of the group that was laid off rather than the part of the group that kept you, and what networking and job prospecting were you doing while you were hired just in case something happened to you.
Live your life at cause. Not at effect.
